Past years have taught me it doesn’t feel like Christmas without books. Books transcend the boundaries between old and young, rich and poor and any other class divisions we can dream up.
It has to be a cold hard heart that cannot appreciate a book, but then I am biased.
This year’s books are mostly autographed by the author and my collection of autographed books grows and I look forward to sharing them with you in the New Year.
I just listened to an interview with Zadie Smith about her new book. I very much look forward to that review.

It’s been years since I read White Teeth. I’m looking forward to reading Swing Time.

I am alarmed by the ‘1001 books you must read before you die’. Certainly there will be 1001 books, probably more. But will they have been the right books?!

You’re right to be alarmed, Judi. I usually steer clear of books like this, but I was intrigued to see if there were any I would enjoy from this collection. I have strong reservations about the alleged right books.

Will you post some of them, from time to time, through the year? Then your readers can see if they agree with them 🙂

Definitely. I have a feeling this could be the springboard of many talking points.

Great picks! I’m really looking forward to reading The Fireman but I’m waiting for the paperback 🙂

I seriously would have waited for the price to drop on Kindle if this wasn’t a present.
