Sophie disappeared eighteen years ago, but when Francesca gets a call from Sophie’s brother she learns that remains, possibly her best friends, have washed up. She agrees to go back to her hometown to support Daniel in identifying Sophie’s remains. However, she sees and experiences strange events, making the mystery of what happened eighteen years ago even murkier.
This really is a stunning, taut psychological thriller that I found consumed me into the small hours of the morning. The characters realistically convincing and the story told from Francesca’s point of view in the present and from Sophie’s point of view eighteen years ago.
The suspense of this thriller is well written and the conclusion eerily haunting. A definite must read and favourite thriller of 2016.
