When the body of an ex-policeman is found in an abandoned building, a huge amount of blood not from the discovered victim is found at the scene. Will Trent is on the case to investigate what the victim was doing there and who killed him.
The eighth book in the Will Trent series sees Angie Polaski back in Will’s life causing havoc. Not least in his relationship with Sara. Annie no longer part of the police force finds alternate employment and means to escalate her behaviour to stalk Sara.
However, the stakes are even higher as issues buried in Angie and Will’s pasts surface and lead to further complications. The chips are down as to whether Sara and Will can get through this immense strain in their relationship. Just when you think you’ve read in all in this series the next book comes along and knocks your socks off.
This can be read as a stand alone and if like me you don’t remember all the details from previous books, it will not spoil your enjoyment of reading this one.

I like that this can be read as a standalone, but I want to read all the books before! I’m still in #3! Great review!

I enjoyed each book as they were published, but I do forget stuff from one book to the next. I think this one is one of her best.
