Advance Book Review: My Husband’s Wife by Jane Corry

I really enjoyed this taut character based thriller about a young couple Ed and Lily, who meet and marry in a whirlwind but both are hiding secrets from each other. Lily is convinced that Ed would have preferred to marry an ex-girlfriend and Ed is disconcerted with the amount of time Lily devotes to her job as a solicitor.

Things become more complicated as the case Lily takes on consumes her and their neighbour becomes more familiar with them, asking them to look after her daughter Carla on weekends. Can their marriage survive the secrets and demons each of them have?

What I really loved about this book, without doubt, are the characters. The plot unfolded to keep me engaged but it’s the characters that kept me turning the pages as they slowly reveal themselves and their motivations. The courtroom drama, although brief, is also intriguing and adds another dimension to the story.

A definite must read for thriller fans who enjoy the work of Claire Macintosh and Liane Moriarty. This book will be published on 26th May 2016 and is available for pre-order from Amazon.

  1. Glad to see you’re back in the saddle: hope this means you’re over the worst of your health scare?

Your review makes the book sound way more interesting than the cliched tagline on the actual cover!

    1. Thank you, I’m slowly getting back into it. This book was so much more dynamic than the description suggested. I almost passed on it but it was the title that clinched it for me.
