Book Review: Beyond the Storm by Adam Jones

I really enjoyed reading this post-apocalyptic thriller set in what was formerly Bristol in the UK. Jude is a young girl running from her past whilst being hunted by the fiend, a heinous being, who is truly frightening. Then you have the naked man, who remembers nothing, but as we piece together what happened to bring all three to the current present and their pasts, you can’t help but be mesmerized by the storytelling.

I found this so easy to get into that I read it in one go overnight, as I just couldn’t put it down. It is very graphic in places and definitely not a read for the faint hearted but a horror thriller that entertains as well as intrigues in equal measure.

A truly dark and horrifying read that succeeds in drawing you in and keeping you enthralled until the very last page. This book is available to read for free to Kindle Unlimited subscribers.

  1. Why is there so much post-apocalyptic fiction these days? Is somebody trying to tell us something? Although after 7 years of Obama, a post-apocalyptic world is kind of easy to imagine.

    1. I think ever since Justin Cronin’s The Passage there has been increasing infatuation with post-apocalyptic stories. I wonder if it has established itself as a genre?
