In a previous post on this subject, I wrote about how nobody really cares about your blog, and only a few bloggers go “viral” or achieve any measure of fame, so you better be writing because you genuinely enjoy it.
In real life, it’s the same. You can’t do things for others’ approval… because other people don’t care. I learned this in high school, when I was always one step behind the trends. By the time I got into a particular trend, it was already lame in everyone else’s eyes, so I stopped caring and did my own thing. You don’t win friends this way (and you don’t win them the other way because people are interested in you only as long as you adhere to that particular trend), but it’s better to have friends who love you for who you are rather than what you’re into or what you…
